Project 4: Children's Book

Creative Brief

This was an illustration I had done a couple years back that inspired the idea of "Commander Kitty."  This illustration was made for a friend a few years back, but it still something I would like to emulate in "Commander Kitty."
The Story

Today, Commander Kitty is setting out in her ship to space.

But she is feeling a bit nervous.

While Kitty sits on her bed, her parents come in to see what is wrong.  They ask, "Are you ok?"
Kitty replies, "I'm scared. What if something goes wrong?"

Commander Kitty's mother and father hug her tightly.
"You can do this," they tell her.  "If anything happens, you just have to stop.  Take a breath.  And think.  If you get stuck, there's another way to get through your problem."
Kitty giggles and nods.  "You're right."
"Now," her parents say, "Let's get you to your ship, Kitty!"

Commander Kitty waves goodbye to her friends and family as she gets on her ship.

"I can do this!" she says as she blasts off to explore all of space with a big smile on her face.
