• Who is the illustrator? Where do they live? Where do they work?
The illustrator is Yuumei, or Wenqing Yan (which is her name), who lives in California. She has made various illustrations, and many digital graphic novels/comics. She also is running a headphones company called Axent Wear.
• What medium was the illustration created in?
The medium is digital, and possibly a combination of the program called Sai and Photoshop from just my knowledge of what she uses, or had used.
• Why did you choose this as one of your illustration examples?
I picked Yuumei because her illustrations are very powerful in both the artistic ability and the meaning they are portraying. She tends to always make illustrations that have a powerful message or feeling in them. I chose this one because I find it being powerful (not that her other ones aren't). It also plays with your mind, in which on first glance, you don't see the girl as anything other than a mermaid.
